CEN RACING CD0412 F-450 SD 3RD LINK & PANHARD MOUNT – DL-SERIES

The CEN Racing CD0412 is the dedicated 3rd link and panhard mount for the Ford F-450 SD DL-Series platform. This bracket is a key part of the front suspension geometry because it provides the mounting structure for two components that control axle location: the upper/third suspension link and the panhard bar.

On a solid-axle truck with a 3-link plus panhard arrangement, these parts are not decorative. The third link controls fore/aft axle rotation and helps manage pinion position, while the panhard bar locates the axle laterally under the chassis. A damaged, bent, loose, or incorrectly positioned mount can create steering shift, axle side movement, poor articulation, or inconsistent tracking.

FACTORY DL-SERIES SUSPENSION MOUNT

  • Manufacturer: CEN Racing
  • Part Number: CD0412
  • Platform: Ford F-450 SD
  • Series: DL-Series
  • Function: Third-link and panhard-bar mounting bracket
  • Location: Chassis / front suspension linkage system

WHY THIS MOUNT MATTERS

The F-450 SD uses a 3-link suspension with panhard-bar design. In that layout, the panhard mount must remain rigid and correctly positioned so the front axle follows a controlled lateral arc as the suspension cycles. The third-link mounting point must also remain secure because it helps keep the axle housing indexed under acceleration, braking, and articulation.

If this bracket is bent or its mounting holes become damaged, simply tightening the links will not correct the geometry. Replacing the mount restores the proper hard point so the suspension can work from the correct reference position.

COMMON REASONS TO REPLACE IT

  • Repair after impact or chassis damage
  • Loose or elongated mounting holes
  • Front axle shifting laterally more than expected
  • Rebuild of the F-450 SD front suspension
  • Restoring factory linkage geometry after a modified setup

INSTALLATION CHECKLIST

When installing CD0412, inspect the third link, panhard bar, rod ends, fasteners, chassis rail mounting points, servo drag link, and axle brackets at the same time. After assembly, cycle the suspension from full compression to full droop and steer lock-to-lock to make sure there is no binding or interference.

GASHEAD RC NOTE: This is a small bracket with a big job. On a panhard-equipped solid axle, mount position is geometry. If this piece is bent or loose, the truck can feel wrong even when every other front-end component looks fine.
