RC4WD METAL REAR BED FOR MOJAVE BODY & AXIAL SCX10 I / II – STYLE A – VVV-C0380
The RC4WD VVV-C0380 Metal Rear Bed – Style A is a substantial rear-body conversion designed for scale builds based on the Mojave cab and compatible Axial SCX10 I / II chassis layouts. This is not a thin decorative bed shell: RC4WD specifies a heavy-duty stainless-steel structure, hand-welded construction, black powder-coated finish, corrosion resistance, functional rear detailing, tail lamps, hinges and a complete hardware package.

HEAVY-DUTY STAINLESS-STEEL CONSTRUCTION
RC4WD builds the bed from heavy-duty stainless steel and finishes it in black powder coat. The assembly is hand welded and designed to resist corrosion, giving it the rigidity, visible metal seams and scale mass expected from a premium hard-body truck conversion.
- Manufacturer: RC4WD / CCHand
- Part Number: VVV-C0380
- Style: A
- Primary Material: Heavy-duty stainless steel
- Construction: Hand welded
- Finish: Black powder-coated
- Corrosion Resistant: Yes
- Total Length: 7.95in / 201.9mm
- Total Width: 7.10in / 180.4mm
- Total Height: 5.07in / 128.2mm
- Total Weight: 30.71oz / 870.5g

WHY THE 870.5G WEIGHT MATTERS
At nearly 1.92 lb / 870.5g, this rear bed becomes a meaningful part of the chassis setup. The mass is far greater than a conventional molded plastic bed, so ride height, rear spring preload, damping and front/rear weight balance should be re-evaluated after installation. On a trail truck, the added sprung mass can increase chassis roll and compression travel if the suspension is left unchanged.
Because that weight is carried behind the cab, builders should also pay attention to rear overhang and battery/electronics placement. A battery positioned too far rearward can compound the rear-heavy balance created by the steel bed.
FULL-SIZE BED PROPORTIONS
The 201.9mm length and 180.4mm width give the bed the presence needed behind a Mojave pickup cab. The proportions are especially important on SCX10-based builds because a generic narrow rear tray can look disconnected from the cab. VVV-C0380 is designed to create a complete truck silhouette rather than a chassis with an accessory tray bolted on.

REAR DETAILING & TAIL LAMPS
The package includes two rear tail lamps, helping the rear of the truck look finished instead of presenting a plain fabricated box. The rear architecture also includes dedicated small-scale hardware and hinge components that reinforce the full-size utility-truck appearance.

HINGES & SCALE HARDWARE
RC4WD includes two gold-colored hinges, a hand screw and an extensive collection of M1, M1.4, M2 and M3 hardware. That hardware density is a good indication of how detailed the bed assembly is: the structure is built from multiple joined and fastened sections rather than being represented by a one-piece molded shell.

COMPATIBILITY
- Axial SCX10 I: Compatible
- Axial SCX10 II: Compatible
- Mojave Body: Compatible when used with the Mojave body cab and additional required parts
RC4WD specifically notes that Mojave-body installation requires the Mojave Body Cab and extra parts. Do not treat this as a complete drop-on Mojave conversion by itself. Chassis mounting, cab support, wheelbase, rear-body support and surrounding hardware must all be planned as part of the build.

INSTALLED APPLICATION
RC4WD shows VVV-C0380 installed on an Axial SCX10 with the RC4WD Mojave II Front Cab in Primer Gray and the Rear Window Guard for Hilux / Bruiser / Mojave. Those surrounding components are shown as application examples and are not included with the rear bed unless specifically listed below.

INSTALLATION CHECKLIST
- Confirm wheelbase and rear tire position relative to the bed before drilling or fabricating mounts.
- Dry-fit the Mojave cab, bed and rear supports as one system before final tightening.
- Check chassis flex and bed clearance through full suspension articulation.
- Re-set rear spring preload after adding the 870.5g bed assembly.
- Check rear shock damping if the truck rebounds excessively after installation.
- Keep battery and other heavy electronics as low and as far forward as practical if rear weight becomes excessive.
- Plan tail-lamp wiring before the rear structure becomes difficult to access.
- Re-check small M1/M1.4 hardware after the first trail session.
WHO THIS BED IS FOR
VVV-C0380 makes the most sense for builders creating a highly detailed trail, work-truck or custom Toyota pickup where real metal construction is part of the build concept. It is less appropriate for a lightweight performance crawler where minimum sprung mass is the priority. The product is about realism, durability and fabricated-metal presence first.
GASHEAD RC NOTE: At 870.5g, this is not an accessory you bolt on and forget. Treat it as a chassis-level modification. Set the rear suspension around the added mass, keep the remaining weight low, and make sure the cab/bed alignment is dead straight before tightening everything. Done correctly, the payoff is a rear section that looks and feels dramatically more like a fabricated full-size truck than a plastic RC body.
