The CROSSRC EMO X5 takes the scale recovery-truck formula and gives it modern brushless power. Built on the reinforced 1/8 EMO architecture, it combines a long 424mm wheelbase, selectable two-speed gearing, differential locks, CNC coil-over shocks and a manual recovery boom with a Hobbywing FUSION 8IGHT FOC power system. It is a large, mechanically involved RTR intended for serious trail driving, technical crawling and scale recovery builds.

GASHEAD RC QUICK TAKE
The X5 is the faster, more powerful branch of the EMO recovery family. Its 1800KV brushless system gives it a broader performance envelope than a traditional brushed crawler, while the two-speed transmission and differential locks retain the control needed for low-speed work. It is not a lightweight basher and should not be driven like one; the value is in combining scale mass, mechanical functions and strong trail power.

HOBBYWING FUSION 8IGHT FOC BRUSHLESS POWER
The factory system pairs a 4269-size high-torque motor rated at 1800KV with a custom Hobbywing FUSION 8IGHT FOC speed-control system. FOC control is designed to deliver smoother low-speed response and efficient torque production than a basic unsensored brushless setup, helping the X5 move its large tires and recovery hardware with precision.
The electronics support 2S through 4S LiPo power. A lower cell count provides calmer response and easier drivetrain management; higher voltage increases wheel speed and available power but also raises heat, load and stopping distance. New owners should begin with conservative throttle settings and confirm motor/ESC temperatures before extending run time.

TWO-SPEED GEARBOX AND LOCKING DIFFERENTIALS
The two-speed gearbox lets the driver choose between low-range control and higher trail speed. Low gear is the correct choice for steep climbs, technical rock work, towing and situations where throttle resolution matters more than momentum. High gear suits open terrain and repositioning.
Front and rear differential-lock functions help the truck maintain drive when one wheel becomes lightly loaded. Use unlocked operation where smooth turning and reduced tire scrub are more important; engage the locks before difficult climbs or cross-axle obstacles. Shift and lock only with minimal drivetrain load so the auxiliary servos can align the mechanisms without fighting bound gears.

REINFORCED LONG-WHEELBASE DRIVELINE
At 424mm between the axles, the X5 is significantly longer than a typical 1/10 crawler. CROSSRC uses a full-metal center driveshaft engineered for the torque and operating angles of the extended chassis. Metal-gear drivetrain components and reinforced mounting points support the output of the 4S-capable brushless system.
The long wheelbase improves climbing stability and makes the truck visually convincing as a recovery vehicle, but it also increases the chance of contacting the center of the chassis on sharp breakovers. Line choice still matters; power cannot negotiate a rock that the belly is sitting on.
PORTAL-STYLE AXLE CLEARANCE
The EMO X5 axle system combines reinforced nylon housings with metal internal gears and differential-lock capability. The raised portal-style layout improves clearance around the axle center sections, allowing the large 2.2-inch tires to place the chassis over uneven terrain without relying only on suspension height.
As with any portal drivetrain, the extra reduction and gear stages increase the importance of inspection and lubrication. After wet or sandy use, clean around the hub housings and listen for changes in drivetrain sound before continuing to drive.
CNC THREADED SHOCKS AND HEAVY-DUTY SUSPENSION
Large-diameter CNC-machined shocks use threaded preload adjustment for precise ride-height tuning. The suspension is calibrated around a heavy rescue body, long frame and large tires, so setup should be evaluated with the normal battery and accessories installed.
Add preload only when needed to correct ride height or load balance. Too much preload raises the center of gravity and can reduce droop. For technical crawling, controlled articulation and consistent damping are more useful than a sky-high stance.

MANUAL RECOVERY BOOM WITH UPGRADE POTENTIAL
The X5 includes a factory-installed manual recovery boom for trail-assistance scenarios and scale presentation. The boom structure supports later integration of a winch-control module for powered boom movement and synthetic-rope management. Unless separately stated in the package, the optional powered winch module and sound system are not included.
The rear fiber-reinforced structure also carries removable recovery boards and simulated fuel-container details. These accessories can be removed to reduce rear mass or simplify the truck for performance-oriented running.

TALON MT TIRES AND 2.2-INCH BEADLOCK WHEELS
The X5 uses 136 × 55mm TALON MT tires on lightweight nylon 2.2-inch beadlock wheels. Their tall profile helps the truck roll over ledges, while the tread and synthetic compound are intended for mixed rock, dirt and trail surfaces. Beadlock construction permits tire or foam servicing without gluing the tire to the wheel.
Inspect wheel nuts and beadlock screws after initial operation. Large tires, brushless torque and a heavy vehicle can work fasteners loose if they were not checked after transport.

LIGHTING AND SCALE PRESENTATION
The RTR package includes the installed lighting system, supporting both visibility and the working-truck appearance. The squared cab, exposed recovery frame, traction boards and rear equipment create a distinct silhouette that separates the X5 from standard SUV-bodied crawlers.
CROSSRC offers Grey and Red body configurations. Product imagery may show both. If a color selector is not displayed at checkout, confirm the currently available color with GASHEAD RC before ordering.
