THE LEGENDARY FJ40, BUILT FOR THE TRAIL AND THE DISPLAY SHELF.
The FMS Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 RS 1/10 4WD Hard-Body Crawler RTR combines officially authorized Toyota styling with a full-size scale-crawler chassis. Its injection-molded ABS body, opening panels, detailed cabin and classic short-wheelbase proportions make it a serious collectible, while the steel ladder frame, four-link suspension, 550 brushed power system and large 1.9-inch tires give it the mechanical foundation required for real trail use.
This is a model for drivers who value realistic construction and presentation as much as off-road performance. It arrives as a Ready Set with the main electronics installed; add the recommended vehicle battery, a compatible charger and four AA transmitter batteries to complete it.

OFFICIALLY AUTHORIZED TOYOTA SCALE AUTHENTICITY
FMS reproduces the unmistakable FJ40 face with the correct upright grille treatment, round headlamps, front turn-signal details, steel-bumper appearance and the compact, squared body silhouette that made the original Land Cruiser an icon. The hard body delivers sharper panel definition and a more substantial feel than a lightweight polycarbonate shell, making the truck equally suited to scale photography, collection display and slow technical crawling.
The body proportions are supported by a 339 mm wheelbase, while the large 115 mm tires and 82 mm stated ground clearance give the FJ40 the stance needed to remain convincing without sacrificing practical obstacle clearance.

OPENING HARD BODY WITH A FULL SCALE INTERIOR
The realism continues beyond the exterior. The hood, both side doors and the rear tailgate open, giving direct access to the model's scale features and creating more options for display scenes. Metal door hinges add durability and reinforce the mechanical appearance of the body. Inside, FMS includes a molded dashboard, steering wheel, mirrors and soft-rubber seats instead of leaving the cabin as an empty shell.
A dedicated 9 g servo operates the scale steering wheel, so its movement follows the vehicle's steering input. That detail is especially effective in close-up trail video and photography, where the cabin remains visible through the windows and open doors.

STEEL LADDER FRAME AND FOUR-LINK SUSPENSION
Under the hard body is a trail-focused chassis built around steel C-channel frame rails. This ladder-frame layout provides the rigid foundation expected from a scale 1/10 crawler and keeps the suspension and driveline supported when the vehicle is loaded against rocks or uneven terrain.
Front and rear four-link suspension allows the axles to articulate while helping maintain predictable geometry. A full ball-bearing drivetrain reduces friction throughout the rotating assemblies. The 1.9-inch soft-rubber all-terrain tires provide a large contact patch for dirt, rock and mixed trail surfaces; their 115 mm outside diameter also helps the truck roll over ledges that would stop a smaller-scale vehicle.

TRAIL-READY 4WD POWER SYSTEM
Power comes from a 35-turn 550-size brushed motor controlled by a 40 A brushed ESC. The combination is selected for controllable low-speed trail driving and useful torque rather than excessive wheel speed. FMS lists a maximum speed of approximately 15 km/h, a sensible range for a detailed hard-body scale rig.
A 15 kg metal-gear steering servo handles the front steering system. The included 2.4 GHz transmitter and receiver provide interference-resistant control with a stated operating range of up to approximately 80 m under suitable conditions. Because this model carries a detailed ABS body, smooth throttle input and deliberate line choice will produce the most realistic—and safest—driving experience.

GEOMETRY DESIGNED FOR REAL OBSTACLES
The FJ40's stated 65-degree approach angle helps the front tires contact ledges before the bumper, while the 40-degree departure angle reduces rear-body interference when descending. Its 268 mm overall width creates a stable footprint, and the 571 mm overall length preserves the long, recognizable Land Cruiser profile.
As with any high-detail hard-body crawler, choose lines that protect the doors, mirrors and body corners. The truck is capable of trail use, but the scale parts are best treated with the same care you would give a collectible model.

COLOR OPTIONS AND PRODUCT CODES
Choose the classic high-visibility Yellow body or the period-inspired Blue body. Both versions share the same chassis, electronics and scale features.

GASHEAD RC SETUP NOTES
- Before the first run, inspect wheel hardware, suspension fasteners and steering-link hardware; transport vibration can loosen threaded parts.
- Confirm correct steering direction and endpoints before driving. Avoid forcing the steering servo against the mechanical stops.
- Use a LiPo charger and follow the battery manufacturer's charging, storage and low-voltage safety instructions.
- After wet or dusty trail use, clean the chassis carefully, dry metal hardware and service bearings as required. Do not assume every scale cabin or body detail is sealed against water.
- Opening doors, mirrors, hinges and interior parts are functional scale features. Handle them carefully during transport and recovery.
GASHEAD RC VERDICT: The FMS FJ40 is the right choice for the enthusiast who wants a recognizable Toyota collectible without giving up a legitimate steel-frame crawler underneath. It is detailed enough for the shelf, mechanically equipped for the trail and large enough to make its scale features easy to appreciate.
