A FULL-SIZE PICKUP BODY ON A PURPOSE-BUILT REAR-WHEEL-DRIVE DRIFT CHASSIS.

The Kyosho FAZER D2 FZD2L 2021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Drift Version 1/10 Readyset is not a normal touring chassis wearing hard drift tires. Kyosho designed the FAZER D2 specifically for modern RWD drifting, with long-span steering geometry, adjustable wheelbase, a high-mounted motor and a receiver that uses gyro assistance for both steering and throttle.

The painted Toyota Tundra Ultra Scale Body Plus arrives fully assembled, and the complete radio system is installed. Add the required chassis battery, charger and four AA transmitter batteries—or choose the GASHEAD RC battery bundle—and the truck is ready for setup and practice.

DRIFT-SPEC REAR-WHEEL-DRIVE CHASSIS

Rear-wheel drive is the standard architecture for current 1/10 drift cars because it allows the chassis to maintain a deep slide under visible counter-steer, closely imitating a real drift vehicle. The FAZER D2 changes the weight distribution, suspension and steering geometry of a conventional FAZER to create predictable rotation and controllable angle.

The split resin chassis places the heavy components along the centerline and supports setup changes without forcing the buyer to start with a bare competition kit.

STEERING AND THROTTLE GYRO CONTROL

The newly developed KRG-331D receiver incorporates a drift-specific gyro. Unlike a simple steering-only stabilizer, the system can moderate both steering and throttle to help establish and hold a useful slide angle. Separate sensitivity controls allow assistance to be adjusted as driver skill and track grip change.

A KS4072-06W steering servo is matched to the gyro for the fast, precise counter-steer response required by an RWD drift chassis. Gyro assistance does not remove the need for throttle control; it makes the vehicle easier to learn and more consistent.

LONG-SPAN FRONT SUSPENSION AND SETUP RANGE

The long-span double-wishbone front suspension creates the large steering angle expected from a modern drift car. Caster, roll center and other geometry settings can be adjusted, while the two-position Ackerman system changes how the inside and outside front wheels relate through a turn.

Oil-filled shocks with red-anodized caps control chassis roll. A full sixteen-bearing drivetrain reduces friction, and the enclosed gear cover protects the transmission from loose debris when the car is driven in a clean parking area.

HIGH-MOUNT G22 BRUSHED MOTOR

The user-friendly Kyosho G22 brushed motor is installed in a mid-high position to promote progressive chassis roll and weight transfer. The motor mount is designed to avoid difficult gear-mesh adjustment, while an elongated mounting range supports Kyosho 48-pitch pinions from 16T to 37T for advanced setup changes.

60A SPEED CONTROLLER AND DRIFT WEIGHT BALANCE

A 60A Kyosho Speed House ESC is mounted at the rear to improve drift-oriented weight distribution. It provides three selectable drive modes: forward/brake/reverse, forward/brake, and forward/reverse. The removable electronics tray is secured by one screw for easier access and maintenance.

REAR SPOOL AND PLASTIC DRIFT TIRES

The rear drivetrain uses a rigid spool rather than a conventional differential, keeping both rear wheels turning together for smooth, repeatable slides. Optional gear- or ball-differential conversions can be installed with the required companion parts when a driver wants to tune rear traction differently.

Hard plastic drift tires provide the controlled loss of grip required on smooth prepared surfaces. The wheels reproduce the classic RAYS TE37V design, while simulated brake discs and calipers add detail behind them.

ADJUSTABLE 240–274MM WHEELBASE

The connection points between the front and rear chassis sections can be repositioned to change wheelbase from approximately 240 to 274 mm. The included long-wheelbase Tundra configuration uses 274 mm, but the design accepts many existing FAZER bodies and standard-size RC battery packs. This gives the platform room to evolve instead of locking it permanently to one body.

2021 TOYOTA TUNDRA ULTRA SCALE BODY PLUS

The 2021 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro body is finished in black with Kyosho wide overfenders, custom aerodynamic elements, three racing stripes and a cargo-bed roll cage. Bumpers, mirrors and light buckets are molded and detailed for display-quality realism.

Ultra Scale Body Plus construction uses concealed mounting points, eliminating exposed body posts and clips from the hood and bed. The truck therefore keeps a clean scale silhouette in photographs and while sliding.

OPTIONAL LED-READY LIGHT BUCKETS

Front and rear light buckets accept separately sold Kyosho 97054-series LED units. LEDs are not included; the installed buckets simply make a clean lighting upgrade possible without cutting improvised holes into the body.

BATTERY PACKAGE OPTIONS

• No Battery: standard Kyosho Readyset; add a compatible 7.2V NiMH or 2S LiPo, charger and four AA transmitter batteries.
• With GASHEAD RC Battery: includes the GASHEAD RC vehicle battery bundle. A compatible charger and four AA transmitter batteries are still required unless separately stated with the selected package.

GASHEAD RC SETUP NOTES

• Use a clean, smooth drift surface. Pebbles and rough asphalt quickly damage plastic tires and bodywork.
• Begin with moderate gyro gain; excessive assistance can create oscillation or unnatural transitions.
• Confirm steering endpoints and full counter-steer clearance before the first run.
• Keep the motor gear cover installed and inspect the spool, pinion and bearings after outdoor sessions.
• LED lights are optional and sold separately.

GASHEAD RC VERDICT: A distinctive Readyset that combines a genuine modern RWD drift chassis with one of the boldest factory-finished pickup bodies available. It is approachable for a beginner but still has enough geometry and drivetrain adjustment to reward proper setup.
