RC4WD OEM XJ 1.9" BEADLOCK WHEELS – CHROME – VVV-C0849

The RC4WD VVV-C0849 OEM XJ 1.9" Beadlock Wheels combine OEM-inspired five-spoke XJ styling with CNC-machined billet-aluminum construction and a functional 1.9-inch beadlock architecture. Sold as a complete set of four, these wheels are designed for scale crawlers and trail trucks using a standard 12mm hex, with a modest positive offset that keeps the track width relatively controlled compared with aggressively offset aftermarket wheels.

CNC-MACHINED BILLET ALUMINUM

RC4WD specifies the VVV-C0849 as CNC machined from billet aluminum. That construction gives the wheel a rigid, precisely machined structure while preserving the clean OEM-style face that makes this design especially appropriate for Jeep XJ, classic SUV and understated scale-truck builds.

FUNCTIONAL 1.9-INCH BEADLOCK DESIGN

A beadlock wheel mechanically captures the tire bead rather than relying on glue at the rim. For crawler and trail use, that makes tire service easier and allows the wheel/tire assembly to be disassembled when changing foams, compounds or tire models. Exact tire-bead geometry varies by manufacturer, however, so beadlock fitment should never be assumed solely from the nominal 1.9-inch size.

3MM POSITIVE OFFSET

RC4WD publishes a +3.0mm positive offset. Positive offset moves the wheel centerline inward relative to the mounting face, so this wheel is intended to maintain a relatively restrained track width rather than pushing the tire aggressively outward. Actual body clearance, steering clearance and scrub radius still depend on axle width, hex thickness, tire section width and suspension geometry.

RC4WD does not publish a separate backspacing dimension for VVV-C0849, so GASHEAD RC does not convert or invent one from incomplete geometry.

54.2G PER WHEEL

Each wheel weighs 54.2g / 1.91oz, for approximately 216.8g across the four-wheel set before tires, foams and hardware are considered. Because wheel mass is unsprung and rotating mass, changing from a lighter plastic wheel to billet aluminum affects suspension response and rotational inertia as well as scale appearance.

On a crawler, some additional wheel mass can help lower the vehicle's effective center of gravity, but excessive rotating mass also increases the load seen by axle shafts, bearings, steering components and drivetrain under shock loads. Build the complete wheel/tire package around the vehicle's intended use rather than treating wheel weight in isolation.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

  • 4x OEM XJ 1.9" Beadlock Wheels – Chrome
  • 4x Black Nut Covers
  • 1x Wrench Tool

RC4WD does not publish a separate beadlock-screw quantity on the current VVV-C0849 product page, so no unverified hardware count is listed here.

TIRE COMPATIBILITY

RC4WD shows the wheels with MIL-SPEC ZXL 1.9" Tires – Z-T0075 as an example; those tires are not included. RC4WD explicitly guarantees its own wheel/tire combinations but notes that cross-brand bead geometry varies, so fitment with third-party 1.9-inch tires cannot be universally guaranteed.

When assembling a beadlock tire, seat both beads evenly around the complete circumference before tightening the wheel. Tighten fasteners gradually and evenly so one section of the bead is not pulled in deeper than another.

VEHICLE FITMENT

RC4WD lists the VVV-C0849 as fitting:

  • Axial SCX10
  • Axial SCX10 II
  • Traxxas TRX-4 Land Rover Defender
  • Traxxas TRX-4 '79 Bronco Ranger XLT
  • Vaterra Ascender
  • HPI Venture FJ Cruiser

For Traxxas TRX-4 applications, RC4WD specifies the Z-S1844 12mm Wheel Hex Conversion. Do not assume direct bolt-on TRX-4 fitment without that conversion.

SCX10 II XJ APPLICATION

Manufacturer imagery shows the chrome OEM XJ wheels installed on an Axial SCX10 II XJ alongside additional body, rack, winch and tire upgrades. Those surrounding accessories, tires and vehicle are application examples and are not included with the wheel set.

INSTALLATION CHECKLIST

  • Confirm the vehicle uses a compatible 12mm wheel hex or the required conversion.
  • Verify the 5.0mm center bore clears the axle stub and hub hardware.
  • Check steering-knuckle and link clearance before running the truck.
  • Confirm tire sidewall and body/fender clearance at full steering lock and full suspension compression.
  • Seat both tire beads evenly before final beadlock tightening.
  • Tighten beadlock hardware gradually in an alternating pattern.
  • Re-check wheel hardware after the first trail session.
  • Inspect the chrome finish after rock contact and clean abrasive grit before storage.

GASHEAD RC NOTE

The important geometry numbers here are the 27.1mm wheel width and +3mm positive offset. Those dimensions make the VVV-C0849 a strong choice when you want an OEM-style XJ appearance without dramatically widening the truck. Still verify the complete tire/hex/body combination, because tire section width and hex thickness can change final clearance even when the wheel itself is correctly specified.
