RC4WD ALUMINUM UTILITY BED FOR CHEVROLET K10 SCOTTSDALE – VVV-C5006
The RC4WD VVV-C5006 Aluminum Utility Bed is a premium service-body conversion for Trail Finder 2 LWB builds using the Chevrolet K10 Scottsdale hard body. It combines CNC-machined billet aluminum, black-anodized components, white powder-coated panels, durable nylon details, ABS injection-molded parts and push-lock side compartments in a highly detailed scale utility-bed package.

CNC-MACHINED BILLET ALUMINUM CONSTRUCTION
The structural character of VVV-C5006 comes from its CNC-machined billet-aluminum construction. RC4WD combines this with black anodizing and a white powder-coated finish to create the look of a full-size service body while preserving durable, corrosion-resistant surfaces.

FUNCTIONAL SERVICE-BODY COMPARTMENTS
The utility-bed layout replaces a conventional pickup box with multiple side storage compartments and a full-width service-body profile. RC4WD uses push-lock closures to keep the compartment doors shut, which gives the build both visual realism and functional mechanical detail instead of relying on molded fake door lines.

NYLON RAILS & ABS DETAIL PARTS
Not every part needs to be metal. RC4WD uses strong nylon and ABS injection-molded components where impact resistance, fine shape detail and lower mass are more useful than billet aluminum. The result is a mixed-material bed that looks more authentic and avoids unnecessary metal weight in purely cosmetic areas.

REAR BODY DETAIL & TAILGATE AREA
The rear section keeps the utility-body theme consistent with full-scale work trucks: raised outer storage boxes, rear lighting positions, a central tailgate opening and a full-width lower bumper area. This is especially important on a premium hard-body build because the rear of the vehicle is highly visible in trail photography and display use.

BED FLOOR & TOP-RAIL GEOMETRY
The interior cargo floor remains usable between the raised side compartments, preserving the visual language of a real utility/service body. The upper rail surfaces create a natural place for scale cargo, work equipment or an optional utility-bed rack while keeping the center bed area open.
WHY THE 800G WEIGHT MATTERS
At approximately 800g / 1.76lb, VVV-C5006 adds significant sprung mass behind the cab. That weight is substantial enough to affect ride height, rear spring preload, damping and front-to-rear balance. After installation, re-check suspension sag and avoid stacking additional heavy accessories at the very rear of the truck unless the chassis setup is adjusted accordingly.
Compared with the heavier VVV-C5003 utility bed, the aluminum-focused VVV-C5006 offers a noticeably lower total mass while retaining a premium service-body appearance.

DESIGNED FOR THE K10 SCOTTSDALE PLATFORM
RC4WD specifies fitment for the Trail Finder 2 LWB RTR with Chevrolet K10 Scottsdale Hard Body Set. The bed is dimensioned specifically around the K10 cab and long-wheelbase chassis, so its width, wheel-opening position and bed-to-cab relationship are not generic.

INSTALLED SCALE APPEARANCE
RC4WD shows the bed installed on a TF2 LWB K10 build with GMC-style grille, cab lights, towing mirrors, side steps and rear cab mounts. Those surrounding parts are shown as application examples and are not included unless specifically listed below.

REQUIRED FOR COMPLETE INSTALLATION
RC4WD states that a complete installation requires the Chevrolet K10 Scottsdale Cab Back, Tailgate and Door Panels Parts – Z-B0266. Do not treat VVV-C5006 as a complete standalone body conversion without that supporting body hardware.
FITMENT NOTES
- Fits RC4WD Trail Finder 2 LWB RTR with Chevrolet K10 Scottsdale Hard Body Set – Black (Z-RTR0067).
- Also shown by RC4WD on the red K10 version used in example builds.
- Verify exact cab version, rear-body mounting points and wheelbase before installation on custom chassis.
- Plan wiring for rear lighting before the service body is fully mounted.
- Check rear tire clearance under full compression and articulation.
SERVICE & REPLACEMENT PARTS
RC4WD supports the utility-bed system with dedicated replacement parts including Utility Bed Replacement Handles, Replacement Rail Covers and Replacement Hinges. That matters on a trail truck because small external service-body details are exposed to rollovers and impacts.
INSTALLATION CHECKLIST
- Dry-fit the bed and cab together before tightening mounts.
- Confirm the chassis is square and the cab-to-bed gap is even.
- Check rear suspension sag after adding the 800g assembly.
- Adjust rear spring preload or spring rate if ride height drops excessively.
- Keep battery and heavy electronics as low and as far forward as practical if the truck becomes rear-heavy.
- Confirm push-lock doors open freely after final alignment.
- Route lighting wires before access becomes restricted.
- Re-check mounting hardware after the first trail session.
WHO THIS BED IS FOR
VVV-C5006 is ideal for scale work-truck, utility, municipal, recovery-support and expedition builds where service-body realism matters as much as trail capability. It is less appropriate for lightweight performance crawlers where minimizing sprung mass is the primary goal.
GASHEAD RC NOTE: This is one of those accessories that changes the entire identity of the truck. The billet-aluminum structure, functional push-lock compartments and K10-specific proportions turn the Scottsdale from a pickup into a convincing service rig. Just remember that 800g behind the cab is real setup weight—install it as part of the chassis plan, not as an afterthought.
